Russia stated on the evening of the 28th that Ukraine had launched drones at Moscow for the third consecutive night, disrupting air traffic around the Russian capital.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that its air defense forces destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones in three hours starting at 17:00 GMT on the 27th, including four shot down over the Moscow region and eight in neighboring areas.

In recent months, Kyiv has continued to launch long-range drone attacks against Moscow and other parts of Russia. Kyiv claims this is aimed at striking military and industrial targets, weakening Russia’s war economy, and demonstrating to the Russian people that war is not far away.

The Russian aviation regulator stated that two of Moscow’s four airports (Domodedovo Airport and Zhukovsky Airport) were temporarily closed for security reasons.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated on Telegram that emergency responders had been dispatched to the crash site of a drone bound for Moscow.

No damage has been reported so far.
